TAMAGAWA Junmai Ginjo Omachi

TAMAGAWA Junmai Ginjo Omachi

Historic rice variety. Most rice strains grown in Japan today are modern hybrids, but Omachi rice was discovered in Okayama Prefecture in 1866. It is the only strain to have been cultivated without a break for so long. The sake is brewed for nuts and herbs rather than a floral style, with an undercurrant of fruits. Like most Tamagawa products, this is very much a food sake. Enjoy with spring vegetables - bamboo shoots, butterbur stalks. cheese or funghi pizza, lamb provencale, roast duck.
